Acepromazine is a phenothiazine tranquilizer used by veterinarians as an aid in tranquilization and as a preanesthetic agent.
Cautions:
Side effects of acepromazine include sedation, depression, incoordination, low blood pressure, slower heart rate and breathing. As with any phenothiazine, this medication may color the urine pink. Occasionally, this medication may have an opposite effect causing stimulation and aggression.
The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law.
