Metronidazole topical preparations are particularly effective against the inflammatory, populopustular component of rosacea. The mechanisms by which topical metronidazole acts in reducing inflammatory lesions of rosacea are unknown, but may include and anti-bacterial and/or anti-inflammatory effect.
Cautions:
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medication includes dry skin or other sign of skin irritation, stinging or burning of the skin, watering of the eye, metallic taste in the mouth, nausea and tingling or numbness of arms, legs, hands or feet.
The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law.
